Ten Candle Safety Tips

Here are ten safety tips you should always follow when using candles in your home, including several courtesy of Candle-Safety.org:

  1. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
  2. Do not burn candles near flammable objects such as curtains, lampshades or blankets.
  3. Burn candles only on heat resistant surfaces - they can become hot enough to damage furniture.
  4. Do not move a burning candle - extinguish candles before moving them.
  5. Do not place candles in a draft.
  6. Keep candles free of foreign material such as matches, wick clippings, paper.
  7. Keep wick trimmed to 1/4 inch to avoid excessive smoking.
  8. Do not burn a candle in a cracked container.
  9. Discontinue burning when less than 1/2 inch of wax remains.
  10. Keep burning candles away from children and active pets.

When was the last time you spent a quiet moment just doing nothing - just sitting and looking at the sea, or watching the wind blowing the tree limbs, or waves rippling on a pond, a flickering candle or children playing in the park?

Candles in Tabletop Water Fountains

Tabletop candle water fountains combine the elements of fire and water into eyecatching moving displays, creating striking table centerpieces sure to become the focus of conversation as well as soothing atmospheric points.

Hosting a dinner party where you want to leave a lasting memorable experience? Place a small candle favor at each place setting in the same style as the candles featured in the water fountain. Each guest takes her own miniature memory of the centerpiece away at the end of the evening.

When to Choose wireless LED Candles in a Candle Fountain

It's not unusual to need to decorate a table but find it's not practical to run a cord to an electrical outlet. If that's the case, consider a tabletop candle fountain that uses wireless LED candles. A wireless fountain allows you to put the fountain on tables away from outlets, in bathrooms where outlets may be limited, in bedrooms where it is not practical to place burning candles, even outdoors on patios or on shelves where outlets are not handy.
